Credit Controller

POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Credit Controller to join a dynamic finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full credit control function, ensuring timely collections, maintaining accurate records, and building strong client relationships.

This role is based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately allocate all incoming payments and credit notes to customer accounts
• Maintain journals and perform regular reconciliations of debtor accounts
• Proactively follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collections
• Resolve account queries efficiently and provide supporting documentation to clients
• Execute the full credit control process up to handover where necessary
• Release sales orders in line with approved credit vetting policies
• Administer credit sales transactions and ensure compliance with internal procedures
• Prepare and issue debtor correspondence in line with legislation (e.g. payment reminders, demand letters)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor master data and account records
• Process discounts on applicable accounts and manage rejected queries
• Issue statements, reconciliation reports, and other relevant documentation
• Participate in audits and ensure all records are audit-ready
• Contribute to reporting, forecasting, and overall debtor management strategies

Customer Relations:

• Deliver excellent service and resolve customer queries promptly
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Engage with customers telephonically and via email to recover outstanding debt
• Proactively address customer concerns and escalate where necessary
• Conduct client visits when required

• National Diploma or Certificate in Credit Management.
• 3 years proven experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
• Strong understanding of credit control processes and debtor management
• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems
• Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
