We are seeking a qualified, goal-driven and self-motivated Credit Controller to join our Credit Control Department.
Purpose of the Role
The Credit Controller is responsible for optimising cash flow through the effective collection of outstanding debt, accurate allocation of payments, and active management of debtor accounts. The role ensures revenue is collected within agreed payment terms while maintaining strong relationships with medical schemes, patients, and internal stakeholders to support National Renal Care's financial sustainability.
Working collaboratively with the Billing Department, Finance, dialysis units, medical schemes and external stakeholders, the Credit Controller investigates and resolves account queries, manages remittance processing, improves debtor ageing, and maintains accurate debtor reconciliations. The role contributes to operational excellence by reducing debtor days, minimising bad debt exposure, maintaining revenue integrity, and upholding compliance with organisational Policies and Procedures and legislative requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Credit Management, Business Administration or a related field will be advantageous.

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in credit control, debtors administration or accounts receivable.
• Experience within the healthcare or medical scheme environment will be advantageous.
• Experience managing debtor ageing, collections and payment allocations.
• Experience with financial and debtor management systems.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Accounts receivable and credit control principles.
• Debtor management and cash collection strategies.
• Medical scheme billing and remittance processes.
• EDI claims processing.
• Financial reconciliations.
• POPIA and information governance.
• Internal financial controls.
• Accounting principles and debtor reporting.

• Office-based role within the Credit Control Department at National Renal Care Head Office.
• Frequent interaction with internal departments and external suppliers.
• High-volume transactional environment requiring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
• Occasional overtime during month-end, financial year-end, audits, or business-critical reporting periods.
