COURIER / LOGISTICS SALES REPRESENTATIVE – WEST COAST

POSITION INFO:

THE PACKAGE

• Basic salary of R20 000 – R22 000 per month
• Target-driven commission of up to R11 500 per month
• Commission applicable to existing customers as well as new business, subject to achievement of targets
• Sales targets based on previous-year monthly revenue with achievable growth expectations
• Business kilometres reimbursed at approximately R4.95/km, subject to submission of an accurate business travel log
• Own reliable vehicle required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage, retain and grow an established portfolio of customers
• Identify and secure new business opportunities throughout the West Coast
• Build strong, trusted and sustainable customer relationships
• Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits and sales meetings
• Identify customer requirements, challenges and pain points
• Recommend appropriate courier, freight and logistics solutions
• Prepare and professionally present quotations, proposals and service solutions
• Negotiate commercially viable agreements while protecting margins
• Achieve monthly sales, revenue and portfolio growth targets
• Identify cross-selling and additional service opportunities within existing accounts
• Prospect for new customers and develop a healthy sales pipeline
• Monitor customer activity and respond proactively to changing requirements
• Maintain knowledge of competitor activity, market developments and pricing trends
• Maintain accurate customer, sales and opportunity information on CRM and sales systems
• Analyse sales reports and customer data to identify opportunities and prioritise activity
• Plan and manage customer appointments, travel and territory coverage effectively
• Provide professional service and represent the organisation appropriately in the market

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Proven sales experience within the courier, freight, transport or logistics industry
• Strong understanding of courier, freight and logistics solutions
• Demonstrated success in external sales, business development and account management
• Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets
• Ability to manage and grow existing customer accounts while developing new business
• Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills
• Excellent negotiation and commercial skills
• Strong relationship-building and customer management ability
• Confident communication, presentation and proposal skills
• Ability to establish credibility and gain the trust of customers
• Excellent territory management, planning and time-management skills
• Strong computer literacy and confidence using CRM and digital sales tools
• Comfortable interpreting sales reports, customer data and sales analytics
• Good understanding of competitor and market activity
• Knowledge of the West Coast business environment and territory will be highly advantageous
• Afrikaans communication skills would be advantageous but are not essential
• Valid driver’s licence
• Own reliable and presentable vehicle
• Clear criminal record
• Professional appearance and conduct appropriate to representing an established international brand
