SUMMARY:
Are you passionate about costing, manufacturing processes, and turning financial data into meaningful business insights?

An established manufacturing business based in Johannesburg East is seeking a detail-oriented Cost & Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideally suited to a finance professional with strong costing experience who enjoys being involved in both operational and financial accounting activities.

POSITION INFO:
While the primary focus of the role is costing, the incumbent will also be involved in broader financial accounting responsibilities and support the full finance function.

Minimum Requirements

B.Com Degree in Accounting
Actively studying towards a CIMA qualification (essential)
Minimum 4 years' relevant accounting experience
Strong experience within a manufacturing environment
Proven costing experience from raw materials through to finished goods
SAP experience advantageous
Strong Excel and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities

Analyse and manage product costing across the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products.
Maintain and review standard costing models, cost allocations, and cost control measures.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis initiatives.
Conduct detailed cost variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with operational and production teams to ensure costing accuracy and improve financial visibility across the business.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of costing methodologies and financial processes.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong costing and manufacturing accounting expertise.
Sound understanding of Zero-Based Costing principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
Ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in Excel, with SAP experience being advantageous.
