POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a Cost & Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys analysing manufacturing costs, improving efficiencies, and translating financial data into meaningful business insights.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, reporting, and financial accounting activities while supporting operational and strategic decision-making. This position offers excellent exposure to the full product lifecycle, from raw material costing through to finished goods analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform product costing and cost analysis across manufacturing operations
Analyse raw material costs and finished product profitability
Assist with zero-based budgeting and costing exercises
Prepare cost reports and management information
Monitor inventory, production costs, and manufacturing variances
Support budgeting and forecasting activities
Assist with month-end accounting and reporting processes
Perform financial accounting responsibilities as required
Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving projects

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

BCom Accounting, Finance or related qualification
Studying towards CIMA (non-negotiable)

Experience:

Minimum 4 years' accounting experience
Manufacturing industry experience essential
Strong costing experience essential
Experience costing from raw materials through to finished products
Understanding of zero-based costing and budgeting methodologies
Exposure to financial accounting functions

Skills:

SAP advantageous
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Cost accounting and variance analysis
Financial reporting and reconciliations
