Collections Agent: VAF

SUMMARY:
My client is currently seeking a motivated and professional Collections Agent to join our dynamic VAF team at an established Law Firm based in Pretoria East. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining excellent customer service standards while achieving collection targets.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate (compulsory)
• Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
• Clear criminal and credit record
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required

Experience Required

• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a call centre or financial services environment preferred
• Experience within collections, vehicle finance, or banking products will be advantageous
• Exposure to CACS systems and banking platforms beneficial

Key Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding outstanding accounts via telephone, email, SMS, and other communication channels
• Negotiate payment arrangements and confirm payment commitments
• Follow up on overdue accounts and broken payment arrangements
• Accurately update customer records and account notes
• Handle customer queries and disputes professionally
• Explain arrears, balances, interest, and account status to customers
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Escalate unresolved matters where necessary
• Manage follow-ups and account administration efficiently
• Send reminders, settlement letters, and related correspondence
