Chef de Partie – 4-Star Hotel, Cape Town
A new 4-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to take charge of a specific kitchen section. The ideal candidate should have excellent culinary skills, attention to detail, and a passion for producing high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, pastry, or sauce).
- Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff within your section.
- Monitor ingredient quality, portion control, and food waste.
- Ensure compliance with kitchen hygiene and safety regulations.
- Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- South African ID or valid work permit.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5-star hotel.
- A culinary qualification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering excellence.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
