CREDITORS & CASHBOOK CLERK (Boksburg)

SUMMARY:
The Creditors and Cashbook Clerk is responsible for processing and reconciling all supplier invoices, payments, and bank transactions to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and compliant financial records. This role plays a key part in maintaining positive supplier relationships and ensuring cash flow accuracy.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Creditors Function:

• Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices in line with company policies.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Prepare and process supplier payments (EFT, cheques, or other approved methods).
• Reconcile supplier statements to creditors’ ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding queries, short payments, or outstanding invoices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier files and records.

Cashbook Function:

• Maintain daily cashbook records for all bank accounts.
• Post and allocate all bank transactions (receipts and payments).
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Ensure all transactions are supported with the necessary documentation.
• Monitor and report on cash balances.

General:

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Adhere to company financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12) with Accounting or Mathematics.
• A tertiary qualification or relevant certificate in Bookkeeping, Finance, or Accounting (advantageous).

Experience:

• Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a creditors and cashbook role.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, SAP, Syspro, or similar).
• Proven experience in bank reconciliations and supplier account management.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
