SUMMARY:
Gijijma Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Accountant/Bookkeeper. They are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant who has recently completed or is completing their SAICA/SAIPA articles. This role is ideal for a newly qualified professional seeking to grow within a dynamic finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for full accounting and bookkeeping functions and play a key role in statutory submissions and financial administration and management.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom Accounting or equivalent Finance degree
- Completed or currently completing SAICA / SAIPA articles
- CIPA or CICA certified (advantageous)
- Strong SARS experience – VAT, PAYE (EMP201), EMP501, Income Tax submissions
- Advanced experience in financial systems such as Pastel / Sage, OMNI and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books
- Process creditors and debtors, including reconciliations and age analysis
- Prepare and process monthly journals, general ledger, and cashbook transactions
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Income Tax returns via SARS E-Filing, and manage and attend to all related audits, required submissions and communications to and with SARS
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage petty cash
- Assist in compiling monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Provide support to auditors and senior accountants during year-end processes
- General financial and administrative support within the finance team
