COST ACCOUNTANT

RedCat Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced COST ACCOUNTANT for a well-established, growing concern – position based in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12.

BTech Degree in Cost Accounting / Bachelor in Accounting Science Degree.

Completed articles an advantage or similar professional qualification.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). Previous working experience on CaseWare package and other accounting packages.

3yrs+ previous working experience in a similar position and / or completed SAICA training contract.

Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.

Monitor and supervise daily material usage variance process.

Monitor and supervise month end and year end stock take and report to management.

Monitor cost change on a weekly basis and ensure that the ERP system is updated on time.

Update the costing model and provide pricing to sales reps on a regular basis.

Assist Quality Assurance to maintain BOMs in the system.

Review and supervise the BOM review process.

Review and monitor daily material usages variance and suggest effective costing processes.

Assist in month and year end closing.

Analyse and report profit margins (monthly).

Identify and recommend cost effective solutions.

Perform monthly inventory reconciliation and report discrepancies on time.

Prepare (monthly, quarterly, annual) cost forecast.

Perform adhoc duties as assigned by line manager.
