Bookkeeper to Trial Balance

SUMMARY:
Our client, operating within the Property Administration and Community Schemes industry, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to Trial Balance to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function for a portfolio of many Body Corporates and Homeowners Associations, with the opportunity to grow alongside the portfolio.

This is a high-volume, deadline-driven role requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

POSITION INFO:
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the bookkeeping function for Body Corporates and Homeowners Associations.
• Process and pay supplier invoices.
• Process and reconcile bank statements on Pastel for multiple schemes.
• Allocate receipts to the correct customer accounts.
• Process accounting transactions through to Trial Balance.
• Process financial year-end transactions for individual scheme books on Pastel.
• Liaise with auditors and respond to audit queries.
• Process auditor journals on Pastel.
• Raise and approve client debit orders and levies.
• Process and capture levy-related transactions accurately.
• Prepare and send monthly customer statements following the processing of bank statements.
• Respond to client queries regarding levy statements, payments and transactions via telephone and email.
• Deal with payment demands and attorney handovers relating to outstanding levy accounts.
• Prepare and distribute monthly Trial Balances and Age Analysis reports to trustees.
• Complete levy statement runs, Trial Balances and Age Analysis by the 25th of each month.
• Reconcile and capture petty cash transactions where applicable.
• Maintain accurate filing, recordkeeping and general office administration.
• Keep financial records and documentation organised and up to date.
• Work closely with the Portfolio Manager/Director and provide support as required.
• Manage a growing portfolio while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines.

• Financial Degree or Diploma.
• Minimum 3 years' Pastel experience.
• Previous Pastel Partner experience or training is essential.
• Previous experience within Body Corporate, Sectional Title or Homeowners Association administration would be advantageous.
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge up to Trial Balance.
• Excellent numerical and reconciliation skills.
• Previous experience working with multiple entities or client accounts would be advantageous.
• Ability to work accurately in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with clients, trustees and auditors.
