Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
A well-established company based in Sandton is seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join their finance team.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions
• Process journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with statutory compliance
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
