Our client is an established property development company with a strong track record in delivering residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the Western Cape and Gauteng.
 
They are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping across multiple projects.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and process transactions on the accounting systems Xero and Pastel Partner
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and allocate transactions to correct cost and project codes
• Process journals during month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and support external auditors
• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and trial balance reports
• Support budgeting and monthly variance reporting processes
• Process and reconcile supplier invoices/accounts
• Prepare and process electronic payments, ensuring correct authorisation and allocations
• Reconcile shareholder and scheduled payments
• Raise tenant invoices for rent, levies maintenance, and recoveries
• Maintain and update rent rolls for accurate monthly billing
• Manage debtor accounts, including age analysis and follow-ups on outstanding balances
• Support debit order processing and tenant collections
• Assist with lease-end reconciliations, including deposits and outstanding balances
• Assist with statutory compliance, including VAT, PAYE, UIF, CIPC and related submissions
• Reconcile and submit VAT returns and attend to any SARS queries for multiple entities
• Prepare audit files
• Maintain proper filing systems (electronic and physical) including SharePoint documentation
• Intercompany loan accounts and bond accounts reconciliations and interest calculations.

• 3–4 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or property finance environment
• Matric / Grade 12 (relevant finance qualification advantageous)
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping up to trial balance
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational ability and ability to manage deadlines
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
• Experience with Pastel Partner and Xero accounting packages
