Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Our client in Paarl is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions for a portfolio of clients. You will handle full bookkeeping functions, prepare management reports, and support VAT processes while assisting in team supervision.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
Record and process daily financial transactions (sales, invoices, expenses, payments)
Maintain general ledgers and reconcile accounts to trial balance
Prepare and review management reports (balance sheet, income statement, A/R & A/P age analysis, stock)
Manage VAT reconciliations and submissions (SARS)
Compile audit/financial statement packs
Maintain accurate filing systems (digital and physical)
Engage with clients on bookkeeping matters
Support and help oversee the bookkeeping team

Requirements:
Matric with strong Maths and Accounting
Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping
3–4 years’ bookkeeping experience in an accounting practice
Solid knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, VAT, and reconciliations
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage – training provided)

Good communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
Organised, proactive, and team-oriented
