POSITION INFO:

An established and fast-paced retail-focused organisation is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support accurate financial management and reporting across the business.

What you will be doing:

Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and update financial records
Prepare financial statements, summaries, and reports for management
Monitor petty cash and cash handling procedures
Support audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations (SARS)
Liaise with suppliers, clients, and service providers on financial matters
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information

What we are looking for:

Matric / National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) minimum
Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping (SAQA-recognized)
2+ years' experience in bookkeeping within retail or similar environment
Knowledge of South African tax laws, VAT, and payroll regulations
Experience with accounting software such as Pastel, QuickBooks, or Xero
Strong numerical and analytical skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong organisational and communication skills
