About the Role

A company in the plastics production industry seeks a motivated, independent Bookkeeper with extensive Sage Pastel accounting package experience. The successful candidate will handle the full range of bookkeeping task up to, and including Trial Balance.

POSITION INFO:
What you’ll be doing

1. Bookkeeping & Accounting

Full bookkeeping function from source documents to Trial Balance
Daily processing and capturing of financial transactions on Pastel
General ledger maintenance and journal entries
Bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
Preparation of monthly Trial Balance
Assist with year-end audit preparation

2. Invoicing & Debtor Control

Issuing customer invoices
Following up on outstanding payments
Maintaining accurate debtor accounts
Processing credit notes where applicable

3. Creditors & Purchase Orders

Processing supplier invoices
Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
Preparing and reconciling creditor reconciliations
Loading and preparing payment schedules
Managing purchase order system

4. Reporting

Monthly financial reports
Cash flow reporting
Expense tracking and analysis
Ad hoc management reports as required

5. Administrative Duties

Filing and document management
Maintaining financial records
Assisting with general office administration
Supporting management with financial information

What you’ll need

Relevant qualification in Accounting / Bookkeeping (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree)
Minimum 3–5 years bookkeeping experience
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper / Pastel Operator
Strong working knowledge of Pastel Accounting (Sage Pastel)
Experience processing up to Trial Balance
Solid understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
Strong reconciliation skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
