SUMMARY:
Location: Hydepark
A permanent opportunity exists for a Mid-Level Bookkeeper who will be responsible for performing the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance across multiple entities. The role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while liasing with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance across multiple companies
- Process invoices, creditors and debtors' transactions accurately and timeously
- Maintain finance files for accounts receivable, accounts payable,
- Process cash books and perform bank and supplier reconciliations
- Prepare, review and email customer statements
- Load payments and beneficiaries on the banking platform when required and authorised
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Address internal and external financial queries promptly and professionally
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations and assist with VAT submissions where required
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to audit queries
- Liaise with payroll and Operations departments to resolve finance -related queries
- Perform ad-hoc finance and accounting duties as required
Education & Qualifications:Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Bookkeeping (minimum requirement)
Experience:- 3 - 5 years solid bookkeeping experience in a similar role
- Proven experience performing bookkeeping functions up to trial balance
- Exposure to multi-company and/or multi-currency environments
- Basic understanding of payroll processing and employee tax calculations
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures
