SUMMARY:
The company is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial and accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

This role is based at the company’s Kempton Park offices and will work closely with management and external accountants.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Perform full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Manage supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations
Prepare bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
Maintain accurate general ledger entries
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Support payroll processing and related reconciliations (where applicable)
Maintain financial records in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements
Liaise with auditors, accountants, and other external service providers

Minimum Requirements

Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (certificate or diploma)
Minimum 2–5 years’ bookkeeping experience (manufacturing environment advantageous)
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping to trial balance
Experience with VAT calculations and submissions
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel, Sage, or similar)
Strong Excel skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Advantageous Experience

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or mining-related industries
Exposure to stock control and cost accounting
Payroll processing experience
