SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate financial records, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will be an assertive, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership abilities, capable of running and supporting a small finance team.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
Process and reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Maintain fixed asset registers and perform monthly reconciliations.
Assist with cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
Prepare monthly management reports and assist in year-end audit processes.
Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Supervise junior finance staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Liaise with external auditors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.

Education & Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12) required.
Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance (advantageous).

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
Strong proficiency in Xero ERP (essential).
Experience in managing or leading a small finance team.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and payroll processing.
