Beam Line Operator - Steel Industry

SUMMARY:
Strong technical Beam Line Operator required for our steel manufacturing client in Mount Edgecombe with previous experience in a steel fabrication environment, engineering workshop, or fast-paced manufacturing facility operating heavy machinery.  Candidates must present with a matric with technical subjects and mathmatics.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties:

• Operate CNC Machinery: Operate automated beam line machinery, such as Voortman or Ficep systems, to cut, drill, punch, and cope structural steel.
• Read Technical Drawings: Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and job orders to ensure the correct measurements and specifications are applied.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed steel components to ensure they meet the required tolerances and project specifications.
• Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting, cleaning, and routine daily checks on the machinery to minimize downtime.
• Safety: Adhere to strict workplace health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE when working in a heavy industrial environment.

• Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric), with a good understanding of mathematics and technical subjects.
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer literacy, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience: Previous experience in a steel fabrication environment, engineering workshop, or fast-paced manufacturing facility operating heavy machinery.
