SUMMARY:
A safari lodge in Pilanesberg, North West is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager to support the Lodge Manager with the day-to-day running of the lodge.

This is a general lodge operations role requiring a broad understanding of Food & Beverage, Front Office and Reservations, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and general lodge operations. The successful candidate must be both operationally hands-on and administratively strong.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Lodge Manager with the overall day-to-day running of the lodge
Provide operational support to Heads of Department
Monitor daily operations and ensure standards and procedures are maintained
Ensure high standards of guest service and resolve guest concerns when required
Be visible and hands-on, particularly during busy periods and key guest service times
Assist with staff supervision, training, coaching, and performance management
Assist with daily operational planning, including occupancy, guest movements, staffing, and special arrangements
Assist with stock control, cost management, and operational expenses
Assist with staff rosters, daily planning, and general administration
Maintain accurate records, reports, checklists, and operational documentation
Ensure administrative tasks and follow-ups are completed accurately and within required timeframes
Ensure effective communication between departments
Assist with functions, groups, and special events
Act as Manager on Duty when required
Assist with operational improvements and ensure agreed actions are followed through
Provide regular feedback to the Lodge Manager on operational matters, staffing, guest feedback, and outstanding issues
Take a proactive approach to identifying problems and finding practical solutions

PACKAGE:

R28,000 – R30,000 CTC per month
Live-in accommodation provided
