POSITION INFO:

An established and specialist feed manufacturer is looking for an experienced Animal Nutrition Manager to join their team. This is a senior role, and our client is specifically seeking someone with the potential and ambition to grow towards executive leadership, making this a key consideration in the selection process.

This is not just a formulation role. You will play a key part in shaping product quality, leading a small team, supporting commercial growth, and influencing the overall direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and optimise animal diets across various species and production systems.
• Drive quality assurance and quality control standards across the operation.
• Oversee and continuously improve quality management systems and processes.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance within the animal feed environment.
• Provide technical support to clients, farmers, and internal teams.
• Partner with the commercial team, contributing to client engagement, product positioning, and sales support.
• Contribute to research and development initiatives aligned to market needs.
• Lead, manage, and develop a small team, ensuring accountability, performance, and growth.
• Work cross-functionally to embed a strong quality-driven and commercially aware culture.

Requirements

• BSc in Animal Science or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
• Five to seven years’ experience within animal nutrition or feed manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of QA and QC within a production environment.
• Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements in the feed industry.
• Experience engaging with clients or supporting technical sales.
• Demonstrated people management or leadership capability.
• Exposure to exotic species or specialised feed beneficial but not essential.
