Agriculturalist - Northern Cape

SUMMARY:
Provide agronomic, technical, sales, and marketing support to commercial growers across the Northern Cape. Assist customers in improving crop performance and profitability through expert agronomic advice, product recommendations, and technical support.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical agronomic support to existing and prospective customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial growers.
• Support the sales team by identifying opportunities and driving product sales.
• Conduct crop inspections and provide recommendations on wheat, maize, pecan nuts, and other crops.
• Plan, implement, and monitor field trials and soil health programmes.
• Deliver product demonstrations, technical training, and grower presentations.
• Investigate and resolve crop or product performance issues.
• Monitor product performance and compile technical reports.
• Work closely with technical and research teams to evaluate trial results.
• Stay current with developments in agronomy, crop production, and fertiliser technologies.
• Maintain professional registration and comply with SACNASPs Code of Conduct.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Production, or related qualification.
• SACNASP registration (or ability to obtain registration within 12 months).
• Sound knowledge of crop production and agronomic practices.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northern Cape (including Jan Kempdorp, Hartswater, Christiana, Modderrivier, Hopetown, Douglas, and surrounding areas).
