Admitted Attorney (3+ Years PQE) – Commercial / Banking Law

POSITION INFO:

📍 Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal
💰 Salary: Market Related (depending on experience)

An established and reputable legal firm based in Umhlanga is seeking a skilled Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their dynamic team.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded attorney with strong experience in banking, corporate, and property-related legal work.

Key Requirements

• LLB Degree
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Minimum 3 years PQE
• Strong experience in Banking Law, specifically:
• Drafting of facility agreements, loan agreements, and suretyships
• Experience working with banks (non-litigious focus)
• Exposure to one or more of the following areas:
• Franchise agreements
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
• Property development (commercial developers preferred
• • Experience working the bank i.e. legal advisor drawing up contracts (not litigation)

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing commercial and banking-related agreements
• Advising clients on corporate and transactional matters
• Assisting with M&A transactions and due diligence processes
• Supporting property development projects from a legal perspective
• Liaising with clients, financial institutions, and stakeholders

Ideal Candidate

• Commercially astute with strong drafting skills
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Client-focused with excellent communication skills
• Experience in a corporate/commercial law environment will be advantageous
