Job Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Admitted Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and detail-oriented, with strong drafting capabilities and the ability to confidently engage with sophisticated commercial and banking clients.

You will be involved in a range of transactional and commercial legal work, including:

Drafting and reviewing banking and finance documentation, including facility and bond agreements
Preparing and negotiating loan agreements and suretyships
Supporting franchising-related legal work
Assisting with mergers and acquisitions transactions
Exposure to property development matters, particularly working with commercial property developers
Providing legal support on structured finance and commercial transactions
Liaising with clients including financial institutions, banks, and corporate entities

Qualifications

LLB Degree (essential)
Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience (PQE)

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

Strong experience in banking and finance law, particularly drafting transactional documentation (facility agreements, bond documentation, etc.)
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Commercial / transactional law
- Property development transactions
Strong drafting, analytical and commercial legal skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
