SUMMARY:
Background:

• Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences
• WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives
• In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to Academics

POSITION INFO:
Division: Division of Education Leadership, Policy and Skills (ELPS)
 
Main purpose of the job:

• To work closely with and provide high-level administrative support to various stakeholders

• Wits Education Campus, Parktown

• Assist with drawing up and preparing budgets
• Monitor and administer short course applications
• Set up and manage short courses on the relevant systems
• Provide administrative support for the selection of participants
• Prepare course materials and coordinate venues and meal arrangements
• Assist with flight and accommodation bookings for students
• Facilitate invoicing processes and capture payments accurately
• Capture marks and issue certificates
• Assist with processing payments for consultants
• Support procurement activities and related administrative processes
• Compile and prepare financial reports for funders

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or a Related Field

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience

• Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including intermediate-level Microsoft Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise tact, and always demonstrate professionalism
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Own reliable transport will be advantageous, and be available after hours to respond to unplanned emergencies or queries when required
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as service providers
