SUMMARY:
Our client in Sandton is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their hard-working, professional and collaborative team, where high standards of performance and quality are valued.

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments, ensuring adherence to internal controls and maintaining positive supplier relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–3 years’ experience in accounts payable or a similar role
Experience with accounting systems (Xero); Basic Microsoft Excel skills

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing
- Receive, verify, and capture supplier invoices
- Perform three-way matching (purchase order, goods received note, invoice)
- Ensure correct coding and authorization of invoices
Payment Processing
- Prepare supplier payment runs in accordance with payment terms
- Ensure all payments are properly approved
Supplier Management
- Respond to supplier queries and resolve discrepancies
- Build and maintain professional supplier relationships
Reconciliations
- Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve variances or missing transactions
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Prevent duplicate, incorrect, or fraudulent payments
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all transactions
Reporting
- Prepare accounts payable aging reports
- Assist with cash flow planning by providing payment forecasts
- Highlight overdue or disputed invoices to management
