SUMMARY:
Accounting Officer/Bookkeeper
A rapidly expanding technology company located in Sandton, Johannesburg is looking to appoint a meticulous and experienced Accounting Officer/Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will come with 5 years’ experience and will be responsible for capturing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, contributing to the preparation of financial reports, and providing support for a range of finance and administrative functions within the business.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

Vehicle and valid Driver’s License.
Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Minimum of 5 years’ working experience using Pastel Accounting Software.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Proven experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accurately capture and manage daily financial transactions to ensure data integrity.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
Contribute to the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Manage the full accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
Prepare bank reconciliations and oversee daily cash flow management.
Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
Support internal audit processes and ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and relevant service providers as required.
Handle general administrative duties associated with the finance department.
