POSITION INFO:
My client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting sound financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.

This role is based in Hartbeespoort Dam, North West.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and oversee the integrity of financial records in line with applicable legislation and accounting standards.
Produce reliable management reports and financial information to support business planning and decision-making.
Take full ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including the processing and reconciliation of cashbook transactions.
Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting frameworks, such as IFRS/GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Maintain the fixed asset registers, ensuring that assets are accurately recorded, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis.
Prepare financial statements, as well as assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Monitor and analyse departmental budgets, comparing actual results against forecasts and identifying variances.
Ensure compliance with tax legislation and manage the preparation and submission of VAT, dividends tax, and income tax returns.
Provide ad hoc financial support and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
8 years’ experience in finance.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
