A leading vehicle rental brand is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and proactive Accountant to join our dynamic finance team.

In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in strengthening financial operations, ensuring compliance, enhancing controls, and supporting the overall financial health of the business. You’ll collaborate closely with the Financial Manager and leadership team to provide accurate financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and present comprehensive management accounts, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, variance analyses, and detailed commentaries.
Ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Lead the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Deliver financial reports accurately and on time—weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Prepare annual tax packs in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Manage income and expenditure controls to safeguard financial integrity.
Perform monthly variance analysis of financial statements, identifying key trends and insights.
Oversee tax compliance and ensure adherence to all relevant legislation.
Review and authorize weekly and monthly creditor payments.
Post and reconcile month-end journals to ensure accurate reporting.
Complete and review all balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner, resolving outstanding items within 30 days.
Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns, ensuring compliance and reasonableness of calculations.
Reconcile inter-divisional loan accounts weekly.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and standard operating procedures.
Partner with internal and external auditors during audit processes.
Collaborate with branch teams to address financial queries and support operational activities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive revenue growth initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
Lead, coach, and mentor team members to foster a high-performance, positive work environment.
Conduct performance contracting, regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to support team development.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Completed BCom Honours in Finance.
Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA).
Minimum 3 years post-articles experience.
Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and financial reporting standards.
