SUMMARY:
Role Purpose:
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their finance department. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in full bookkeeping and accounting functions up to Trial Balance, along with advanced Excel skills and a proven track record of financial accuracy and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain general ledgers and prepare monthly management accounts.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and cashbook entries.
- Process journals, accruals, and adjustments.
- Prepare VAT and other statutory submissions.
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Support auditors and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and best accounting practices.
POSITION INFO:
Role Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advantageous).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping/accounting role.
- Proven experience in full function accounting up to Trial Balance.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
