SUMMARY:
The Agriculture Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of the annual production targets, costs, yield quality of the yellow field pea (YFP), and full supply chain from seed to Silo in South Africa.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Agriculture Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of the annual production targets, costs, yield quality of the yellow field pea (YFP), and full supply chain from seed to Silo in South Africa. This role collaborates with; and manages contracted growers and enabling partners to achieve the budgeted yield, cost, and quality targets whilst also providing technical support. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Plant.B Seeds/ RedSun Seeds operational targets, including compliance with related contract agreements. This role manages the full supply chain from logistics to storage and handling.

B.Sc degree in Agriculture
6 – 10 years experience in farming and management
Agronomy skill set in plant science is key
Excellent people skills (A Network within the grain industry is highly beneficial)
Understanding/experience in the grains industry, particularly in Soya, Wheat, and Canola
Understanding in agriculture of the supply chain, logistics, and chemicals
Male, Aged between 32 – 40 years
Energetic, flexible & patient
An understanding of project management processes is beneficial
Fit and healthy individual, participating in outdoor sports/activities
Nelspruit, Mpumalanga (in office), or Cape-Town (remotely) – but will be required to travel between Cape-Town and Highveld/Lowveld monthly (extensively at times)
