SUMMARY:

Candidates must have a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel to client sites as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Matric required; formal certifications or degrees in Networking, Telecommunications, or IT are strongly preferred.
Certifications: One or more of the following:
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco CCNA
- Sophos firewall certifications
- Fiber optic certifications
Physical Fitness: This role involves physical work, including climbing, carrying equipment, and working on high sites in various weather conditions.

Key Technical Skills & Experience

Networking & Telecommunications:
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cabling, fiber optics, and wireless systems.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls (Cambium, Sophos preferred).
Network Design & Implementation:
- Configuring routers, switches, and firewall devices.
Security & Troubleshooting:
- Identifying vulnerabilities, managing security policies, and resolving network issues.
Protocols & Technologies:
- Experience working with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other standard protocols.
Cloud & Virtualization:
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualized environments.
Monitoring & Optimisation:
- Use of monitoring tools such as PRTG and DataTill to ensure network performance.

Soft Skills & Work Ethic

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently without supervision.
Professional and clear communication with clients and team members.
Commitment to continuous learning and ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies.
