Job Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef or Chef De Partie to lead their kitchen team. This role primarily covers the late shift (14h00–23h00), with occasional morning shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu creation and innovation aligned with guest expectations
Costing and budget management to ensure profitability
Leadership and supervision of the kitchen brigade
Monitoring and reducing wastage
Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
Training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff
Coordinating with management to align kitchen operations with overall service goals

Qualifications

Matric
Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience
Minimum 2 year experience in a leadership chef role within a busy hospitality environment
Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations

Skills

Strong culinary expertise with proven creativity
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
Sound knowledge of food costing, stock control, and supplier management
Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
