Workshop Manager - SMPP

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a highly motivated experience Workshop Manager with experience structural steel, steel fabrication, construction or SMPP.

POSITION INFO:
Workshop Management

• Oversee daily operations of the fabrication workshop
• Manage production planning, workflow, and job allocation
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards

• Manage structural, mechanical, platework, and piping fabrication activities
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications,

• Lead and supervise artisans, welders, boilermakers, and workshop staff
• Conduct performance management, skills development, and training

• Enforce SHEQ standards and ensure safe workshop practices
• Conduct inspections, audits, and ensure adherence to fabrication quality standards

• Liaise with clients, project managers, and engineers
• Provide progress updates and resolve technical or operational issues

• Manage workshop documentation, job cards, and production reports
• Monitor material usage, stock levels, and procurement requirements

• Previous experience in a managerial position within an SMPP workshop
• 5 years' experience as a Workshop Manager 
• Strong background in heavy steel fabrication and workshop operations

• Strong leadership and people‑management skills
• Excellent technical understanding of fabrication processes
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability
• High attention to detail and quality control
