POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Qualified Motor Mechanic with a valid Red Seal Trade Test Certificate

• BMW Accredited Master Technician Certification

• Minimum 8–10 years'' experience as a qualified technician within a franchised dealership

• Minimum 3–5 years'' experience in a Workshop Foreman or supervisory role

• Strong knowledge of BMW diagnostic systems, ISTA, AIR, ETK, and technical repair procedures

• Valid Code B driver''s licence

• Clean criminal record

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office and dealership systems)

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a workshop team of 30+ technicians, apprentices, workshop assistants, and support staff.

• Plan, allocate, and monitor daily workshop activities to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.

• Provide advanced technical support and diagnostics on complex BMW mechanical and electrical faults.

• Perform quality control inspections on completed repairs before vehicle delivery.

• Ensure repairs comply with BMW manufacturer standards and warranty requirements.

• Mentor, coach, and develop technicians to improve technical skills and productivity.

• Conduct regular toolbox talks, technical training, and performance reviews.

• Monitor workshop efficiency, productivity, and labour sales targets.

• Ensure accurate job card completion, warranty documentation, and repair reporting.

• Assist Service Advisors with technical explanations and customer escalations when required.

• Maintain workshop discipline and adherence to company policies.

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.

• Monitor workshop equipment, diagnostic tools, and special tools to ensure proper maintenance.

• Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure the availability of required components.

• Minimise vehicle comebacks through effective diagnosis and quality workmanship.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve manufacturer and dealership performance targets.

• BMW Service Team Leader or Workshop Foreman training
