POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly skilled Winder Technician to maintain and optimise winder control systems at our mining operations. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, reliability, and availability of shaft winders for uninterrupted production.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 + N4 Electrical Engineering (NOF Level 5)
- 5+ years as a Winder Artisan (electrical/electronic control systems)
Essential Skills:
- PLC logic & fault-finding
- DC/AC motor drives & hydraulic systems
- Lilly’s controllers & dynamic brake testing
- Winder code compliance & safety systems
Certifications:
- Valid Red Ticket (or medically fit to obtain one)
- PLC Training ( Winder/HT Modules advantageous)
- SAP knowledge (beneficial)
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimise winder control systems for safety/reliability
- Troubleshoot faults to prevent production delays
- Update machinery logs & conduct daily safety inspections
- Backup software & maintain system drawings
- Coach engineering teams on winder systems
