Wholesale Junior Manager - Meat Traders

SUMMARY:
Meat Traders Abattoir is looking for a hands‑on Wholesale Junior Manager to support our Wholesale Manager in running a busy wholesale meat operation, managing a small team and ensuring excellent service to our customers in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Wholesale Manager to manage wholesale sales, margins and volumes to meet daily and monthly targets.
• Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with key wholesale and retail customers and help identify new business opportunities.
• Support the planning of stock, deliveries and truck/driver schedules to ensure on‑time, efficient service.
• Check sales and stock reports, highlighting variances and helping to make sound commercial decisions.
• Oversee day‑to‑day floor operations, including order processing, picking, loading and customer collections.
• Support by leading and supervising the wholesale team on shift, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance and training new staff.
• Help ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards in the wholesale area.

POSITION INFO:
What We Are Looking For

• 2–3 years’ experience in a wholesale or retail environment, preferably meat/food/FMCG.
• Proven sales or customer‑facing experience
• At least 1–2 years in a senior, supervisory or team leader role; exposure to scheduling or overseeing staff is essential.
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience on an ERP or point‑of‑sale/stock management system will be an advantage.
• Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to lead by example on the floor.
• Organised, reliable and willing to work early mornings, Saturdays and public holidays as required in a meat/abattoir environment.
