Welder

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Red Seal Trade Tested Welder with strong experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment to join our team in Cape Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabrication and repair work on mechanical components and equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform welding and fabrication on mechanical components and equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Perform MIG, TIG and/or ARC welding as required.
• Prepare, fit and weld components to required specifications.
• Conduct welding repairs and modifications.
• Inspect welds for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate welding equipment and workshop machinery safely.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
• Work to required tolerances, quality standards and production deadlines.

• Red Seal Trade Certificate – Welder (Mandatory).
• 3–5+ years' relevant welding experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel and other engineering materials.
• Knowledge of welding procedures, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Experience in valves, pumps, pressure equipment, piping or heavy engineering.
• Experience with pressure vessel or coded welding.
• Relevant welding qualifications/certifications.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and technical specifications.
