Wedding & Banqueting Sales Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Hotel with a busy Wedding & Banqueting department based in Muldersdrift is looking for a Wedding & Banqueting Sales Coordinator.
 
This position is ideal for someone who wants to serve clients who are planning the happiest day of their lives.
 
The candidate must be assertive while maintaining the diplomacy, have excellent negotiation skills and will be responsible for increasing the Hotel’s revenues in the wedding business.
 
The position will work closely with other sales staff and the management team to facilitate sales conversion. Through enquiries and wedding exhibition leads, they will focus heavily on prospecting business in all wedding market segments.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:
 
Handle enquiries and walk-ins during the week as and when needed.
Conduct weekend viewings or as operationally required.
Once allocated with a bridal couple or function, create a master file and open a folder with all relevant documentation concerning the wedding / event
Liaise with clients, assist with any queries and manage weddings and functions from start to finish.
Ensure that final appointments are done, function sheets and floor plans are completed accurately.
Ensure the function sheet is up to date with all the latest information
Ensure all payment reminders are done, and payment is collected on time.
Ensure that recon is correct and sent to the finance department
You will be required to meet clients on the day of the wedding / function, ensuring that you double check that all requirements are met
Ensure that this information is accurately communicated to the Duty and Function Managers 
 
Requirements:
 
Grade 12
At least 5+  years of wedding sales and planning experience in similar wedding establishments
Event management certificate / diploma will be an advantage.
Highly professional and committed to the wedding industry.
Own vehicle & a valid driver's license.
Strong negotiating skills and be comfortable ‘asking’ for business.
Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel programs.
Experience with POS booking management systems, an asset.
Proven knowledge and savvy with social media
Able to market, capture and convert business and be knowledgeable of different wedding cultures and trends.
Highly detailed, oriented and creative at up-selling. 
Strong customer focus and ability to build rapport and problem-solve independently.
Must be willing to work a flexible week/ weekend and hours to cover consultations, viewing / inspections.
