POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse and Distribution Manager to oversee warehouse operations and distribution processes at their Durban branch. This role involves managing inventory, optimizing logistics, and leading a team to achieve high performance in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and people management, with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Manage warehouse operations, ensuring a clean, organized environment and maintaining inventory levels.
• Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods, including stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory management.
• Optimize transport management, including fleet utilization, delivery scheduling, and cost control.
• Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery targets are met, maintaining service levels at 99%.
• Monitor fleet fuel usage, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for transport operations.
• Collaborate with sales and supply chain teams to align inventory and customer needs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes, logistics, and safety compliance.
• Lead regional and national supply chain projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and documentation for all warehouse and distribution activities.
• Manage and develop the warehouse team, providing training, motivation, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality (SHERQ) standards.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring expenses align with financial targets.

Key Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in SAP, Syspro, ClickView, Eco Time, VIP, and advanced Excel.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-pressure environment.
• In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and inventory management.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards in task completion.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse management and distribution within a large organization.
• Experience in fleet management and third-party transport provider management.
• Budget management experience and knowledge of process design and supply chain optimization.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 with Maths and Accountancy as passed subjects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
