POSITION INFO:

Our client, an established industrial manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for its finished goods warehouse, inventory management and outbound logistics.

Reporting to the Managing Director and forming part of the site management team, you will lead more than 20 employees and drive stock accuracy, on-time deliveries, safety compliance and cost control.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the full finished goods warehouse operation, from receipt of production output through to storage, picking, packing, loading and dispatch.
• Ensure accurate, secure inventory management for finished goods and service items, including cycle counts and full stock counts.
• Reconcile production declarations against warehouse receipts, investigate discrepancies and resolve their root causes.
• Plan outbound distribution and manage third-party transporters and clearing agents to achieve on-time, in-full deliveries.
• Lead, develop and manage the performance of a warehouse and logistics team of 20 or more employees.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements within the department.
• Manage the departmental budget and report monthly on inventory, delivery and safety performance.
• Maintain ERP data accuracy and continuously improve warehouse layout, process flow and documentation.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• A recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related discipline. This is a non-negotiable requirement. Qualifications obtained outside South Africa must be verifiable through SAQA.
• At least five years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics management role.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team of 20 or more employees.
• Proven accountability for high-value finished goods inventory.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment.
• Exposure to rubber, polymers, mining supply or conveyor belting would be advantageous.
• Practical ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sound working knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act as they apply to line management.
• Experience working in a unionised environment and within a certified quality management system.
• A valid Code B (08) driver’s licence.
