Our client in the mining industry is looking for 2 Warehouse Technicians (one position will be permanent, and the other position will be a one-year contract initially renewable)
Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma
• Three (3) years of related working experience.
• Fluent in English; Chinese would be prioritized.
• Technical and functional proficiency in material & logistics knowledge, the geography of Sub Sahara Africa, shipping methods, material handling equipment, import-export procedures, and exposure to a variety of processes (mining industry, maintenance, mobile equipment).
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Essential Functions
• Assisting and monitoring the offloading of the mine’s cargo from the vessel with appointed freight
forwarder or warehouse.
• Countercheck the quantity of the goods received from the vessel and report to the mine's logistics team immediately if any damages or loss from the vessel.
• Countercheck the goods receiving the list from the vessel.
• Monitor the safe loading of cargo onto the truck in port.
• Monitor the unpacking of containers in the warehouse and evaluate their efficiency then report to Mine-site.
• Monitor the loading efficiency of trucks in the bond warehouse and push the logistics vendor to load out relevant cargo within the confirmed period.
• Prepare some paperwork with warehouse as per the mini-sites requirement.
• Maintains an awareness of all occupational hazards and safety precautions. Follows safety practices and recognizes hazards
• SAP or other OA system data entry as required may train other warehouse technicians regarding warehouse procedures and processes.
• May implement Supply Chain strategies as required
• Performs special projects and other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in or out of the office, some physical checks and assistance with physical logistics operations should be outdoor, and some admin and paperwork should be done indoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Challenges
• Work closely with all the mine’s appointed warehouse and freight forwarders, and also monitor
their operation then reports to the mine-site frequently and timely
• Most of the work scope should be the physical logistics operation instead of admin work.
Physical Demands
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
• The company promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random drug testing.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

International travel to the DRC will be required
