Warehouse Operative

SUMMARY:
Client in JHB North looking for a young energetic Warehouse Operative. Must have good picking experience and be computer literate and have a forklift license. This position is for June / July 2021

POSITION INFO:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods to meet business targets and customer demand.

  • Follow Company policies at all times 

  • Ensure stock inventories are accurate and reconcile against sock inventories 

  • Report areas where high risk of theft may take place 

  • Build and maintain trust relationships with the Management Team, Colleagues and Customers to ensure specific targets are met 

  • Work as part of the Warehouse Team to ensure a smooth warehouse operation 

  • Work collaboratively and engage with key Stakeholders to achieve specific targets 

  • Strive to maintain an ethical Team environment 

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles by hand or with a forklift 

  • Check for damaged or missing items against delivery note and then sort stock for storage in the warehouse 

  • Take goods to the appropriate storage space using loading and lifting gear for heavy goods 

  • Weigh new products and accurately capture data into the system 

  • Keep a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly 

  • Move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely in their allocated space and labelled correctly 

  • Pick daily shipment orders from the storage space, pack securely and label correctly for dispatch 

  • Make up accessory packs
    • Replenishing stock into picking areas when required 
  • Ensure shipments are labelled 
  • Manage the daily schedule and ensure trucks are loaded on time 
  • Load goods on to delivery vehicles in accordance with delivery schedule 
  • Follow processes and procedures to ensure customer deliverables are fully met 
  • Adhere to quality control measures 
  • Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required and within reason 
  • Keep the warehouse clean and tidy at all times 
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained in line with safety procedure and policy 
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures 
  • Report risks and hazards to the Team Leader 
  • Report accidents and incidents immediately to the Team Leader
