SUMMARY:
My client has a thriving logistics business based in both Durban and Cape Town. They are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their team in Durban. Tertiary qualification and 4 to 5 years warehousing and distribution management experience is required plus knowledge of the shipping industry would be advantageous.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key role is to manage and control the entire operation of the warehouse, distribution and procurement department through the effective management and utilisation of all resources, required to optimise the efficiency of all these activities

Key experience required:

Warehouse and/or DC management experience
Inventory management - 4 to 5 years
Logistics management - 4 to 5 years
Operations management
Quality management
Tertiary qualification is preferable
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities will include:

Organization of safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehoused goods
Management of operations and staff
Record keeping
Monitoring of space and stock levels
Manage and update the demand plan weekly and monthly
Implement safe warehouse practices and processes
Identify and record damaged stock
Manage all H&S, security matters

This role involves a fair amount of interface with key clients and a professional and confident candidate with good interpersonal skills will be what the client is looking for. Ability to delegate and manage conflict if and when it occurs is required.
