Warehouse Buyer (Centurion)

SUMMARY:
Job Purpose: Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods required for warehouse operations. The role ensures optimal inventory levels are maintained, quality products are obtained at competitive prices, and procurement activities support efficient warehouse and supply chain operations.

Qualifications and or Experience:

• Grade 12 (Mathematics)
• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement / Purchasing or Business Administration.
• Previous procurement or purchasing experience within a warehouse or supply chain environment will be advantageous.

• Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Forecast demand based on historical data and operational needs.
• Ensure timely replenishment to prevent stockouts or excess stock.

• Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers.
• Request and review quotations and compare pricing and quality.
• Maintain supplier relationships and performance records.

• Prepare and issue purchase orders.
• Track orders and ensure on-time delivery.
• Resolve incorrect deliveries or shipment delays.

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing or supplier consolidation.
• Ensure procurement aligns with company budgets.

• Ensure purchased goods meet company quality standards.
• Work with warehouse teams to address defective goods.
• Arrange returns or replacements when necessary.

• Analyze purchasing trends and supplier performance.
• Prepare procurement reports and cost analysis.
• Use ERP or inventory systems to maintain purchasing records.
