POSITION INFO:

Warehouse Assistant

Salary R29/hr

Location Johannesburg South

Purpose

To work as part of the Warehouse team to handle incoming material, store material in the warehouse, pick outgoing orders, package for transport and to load the outgoing orders. 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS : 

• Handling the incoming material and stacking or storing this safely and effectively in the warehouse in the correct/allocated place. The incoming material may come from containers or need to be collected from the factory. 
• Maintaining warehouse safety and housekeeping standards. 
• Repacking or stacking stock onto or off pallets and repacking broken 

boxes as required. 

• Picking stock for dispatch and preparing the stock for transport by 

wrapping pallets. 

• Loading outgoing stock onto delivery vehicles safely taking into 

account loading instructions. 

• Participating in stock counts/leading stock count teams. 

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS : 

• Being able to recognize damaged or incorrect goods and if found to report these to

supervision. 

• Maintaining warehouse safety and housekeeping standards. 
• Repacking or stacking stock onto or off pallets and repacking broken boxes as required. 
• Picking stock for dispatch and preparing the stock for transport by wrapping pallets. 
• Loading outgoing stock onto delivery vehicles safely taking into account loading instructions. 
• Participating in stock counts. 
• Follow any reasonable instruction by superiors 

Minimum requirements

• Minimum of matric and competent in English. 
• Able bodied and capable of physical work 
• Literate and numerate and to read write speak and follow directions 

in English, and to identify product types and understand a pick list. 

• Must have fork lift / high reach license. 
• Code 14 license would be advantageous. 
• Capable of being trained in safety and committed to maintaining conforming to healthy and safe work practices.
