Guest Service Excellence

• Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests.
• Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and presentation.
• Engage with guests courteously, anticipating their needs and preferences.
• Ensure a memorable dining experience by delivering personalized service.
• Handle special requests, dietary needs, and guest feedback promptly.

📝 Restaurant Setup and Maintenance

• Prepare the dining area before each service: setting tables, polishing cutlery, aligning décor.
• Ensure all service areas are clean, organized, and stocked at all times.
• Maintain the ambiance of the restaurant, adjusting lighting, music, and cleanliness.

🍷 Food & Beverage Knowledge

• Possess thorough knowledge of the lodge’s menu, wine list, and daily specials.
• Confidently recommend food and wine pairings.
• Answer questions regarding ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.

🧾 Order Taking and Serving

• Accurately take food and beverage orders using lodge protocols (POS systems or handwritten).
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, in the correct sequence, and with attention to detail.
• Clear plates and utensils discreetly and promptly between courses.

💼 Team Collaboration

• Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
• Coordinate with fellow waiters and supervisors during peak times and special events.
• Assist with setup and service for bush dinners, boma evenings, picnics, or special lodge events.

🔍 Compliance and Standards

• Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Follow internal SOPs and 5-star service standards at all times.
• Handle lodge property, glassware, and cutlery with care to prevent damage or loss.

🕵️‍♂️ Upselling and Revenue Awareness

• Promote lodge specials, premium wines, or exclusive experiences to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue.
• Monitor and report low stock items or guest preferences to the supervisor.

POSITION INFO:

• Must have Grade 12
• 4-5 years' relevant hotel experience
• Previous experience on Micros would be an advantage
• Must have excellent communication and people skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
