WORKSHOP FOREMAN – WADEVILLE (3863)

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Experience with Yellow machines will be an advantage)

Experience and Requirements:

• A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a workshop foreman
• Computer literate: Ms Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
• A stable work record and contactable references
• Of sober habits
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Reside in Germiston / Surrounding areas
• Great understanding of work optimization techniques
• Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Good time management and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work long hours and overtime, if needed.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Supervising and training staff
• Overseeing work to anticipate, detect and address factors that impede machine availability
• Enforcing OHS regulations and protocols
• Conducting performance reviews with workshop staff
• Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules
• Handle complaints or problems and ensure they are resolved timeously within the time guideline
• Monitor and control mechanic hours/job cards
• Production planning and completion of repairs within timeframes
• Ensure that you do a continuous evaluation of production processes and systems to improve efficiency thereof
