SUMMARY:
Seeking a VISUAL MERCHANDISER (Retail) to join a diverse and multinational consumer brands business representing leading global aspirational footwear and apparel brands. (JOHANNESBURG)

POSITION INFO:

Visual Merchandiser (JHB) - Reporting to Head of Retail Operations

The Visual Merchandiser will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing Visual Merchandising strategies to ensure that each store within the delegated region achieves maximum sales, product performance and superior customer experience through effective visual merchandising.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Working with the architectural features of stores to maximize available space and ensure a smooth customer shopping experience.
• Assembling and dismantling visual displays in windows and in-store.
• Creating visual merchandising packs to communicate visual guidelines including layout principles, visual dressings, and signage.
• Ensuring the implementation of such visual merchandising packs, and instruction, in the region.
• Responsible for the In-Store Customer Experience and Store Set-Up.
• Making sure the overall experience that the customer will receive is to brand standard.
• Included in this is Staff conduct and appearance; Store and Lighting lay-out; Music; General atmosphere.
• Working closely with Brand and Planning in order to effectively plan and execute merchandising for key times of the year, including Launch of a new season and Sale season preparation.
• Assisting in the setup and management of the merchandising of new store openings within the region.
• Working closely with the Buying and Marketing teams to create design themes and plans, including window and in-store displays, signage and pricing concepts?
• Training and coaching in-store sales teams to interpret the guidelines and execute the visual concept.
• Leading and motivating store teams to complete displays within tight deadlines.
• Understanding and relaying the brand identity and message with the use of the Brand’s Core and Fashion product lines.
• Market research on current and future trends in design and lifestyle.
• Timeous launch of seasonal marketing campaigns.
• Leading and guiding the seasonal model store standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Essential: Matric
• Desirable: Fashion / Retail related tertiary qualification
• At least 2 years relevant visual merchandising experience within an apparel or sports environment
• Valid drivers license and own vehicle
